  主人公藤木圭介是一位医术卓越的天才脑外科医生,某日恋人八神妙子从医院的楼顶上坠落,而他却被指控为将女友从医院屋顶推落意图杀害的犯罪嫌疑人。为了找出案件的真相,他放弃了地位与名誉,不得不化名为鸣海健介四处逃亡。为了证明自己的清白,主人公一边躲避警方追捕一边搜索证据。在他逃亡途中,遭遇到很多需要医疗救助的人。这些突发的场合之下,如果不及时施以援手,很可能受伤者、患者会因为得不到及时救治而失去生命。于是这位天才外科医,在不暴露自己身份的情况下,一次次的在这些恶劣的环境中为病人提供帮助,拯救了许多濒死的病人。
